6 Months Old! (December 23, 2012)

This month started with Charlotte attending her first wedding. Although she slept through the ceremony and much of the reception, she had a blast while she was awake. The following Monday (12/3/12) was charlotte's first day at day care at Tender Heart day care in Washington. It was definitely harder on mommy than Charlotte. I managed to make it out of the building before crying but broke down a few times that day before picking her up early. Charlotte had a great time. She really loves her teachers and now that I've seen how happy she gets just arriving there, it's much easier for me too.

After just one day at day care, she discovered her tongue and can now be caught sticking it out and playing with it often. After just a week there, she got her first cold and ear infection. It successfully worked its way through our whole house but did so before Christmas so I guess we were lucky there. Charlotte and I were sick at the same time but Nick got it about a week after us. At that point we didn't want to take a chance on Charlotte getting sick again so she got to have her first sleep over. She went to Charleston for two whole nights away from home and us. We skype'd multiple times while she was gone and were so happy to have her back after daddy felt better. I know she had a great time seeing all her grandparents and having new things to look at but we sure missed her while she was gone.

This month also brought about new foods. She can sit unsupported now so we have moved on to "second foods". She's had harvest veggies , banana peach granola, Hawaiian delight, mangos, along with the continuation of apples, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, carrots, bananas, pears, etc. We haven't come across anything that she refuses to eat although the cold has made her want more bottles and less baby food lately.

She rolled over for the first time this month too! On Sunday December 9th she was laying on the floor next to Nick and Sherman and just got determined enough to do it! Nick saw it all but I didn't see her roll over for another 2 weeks. She's only done it 3 times total so far but she's getting better at moving her arm out of the way before she gets upset.
