Our best-est card playing buddies came to visit this week for a Thanksgiving in the California sunshine. However, it was raining when they arrived and did so for two whole days! (Nick always says, "It's not rain, it's precipitated sunshine.")

Andy and Sarina arrived late Friday night, but that didn't keep us from a quick round of euchre before bed time.

We went to Temecula for some very yummy wine tasting with a few other couples, and then spent Sunday resting with extremely full bellies from our breakfast at Hash House A-Go-Go.

Nick entertained them Monday-Wednesday while I was at work with lots of sights and tours, including The Hotel Del and The Midway aircraft carrier. They saw sea lions at La Jolla Cove, and played lots of games in between. We ate and ate and ate and ate!

The boys decided they wanted to have a traditional thanksgiving dinner so Sarina and I worked together to fix our first ever Thanksgiving Turkey. It was a success, although I was a bit disappointed with the small amount of actual meat on the bird.

Sarina and I got up at 3am on Black Friday to hit up a few sales, but we were home and back in bed before the sun came up at 6. We spent Friday afternoon at the zoo and then made it (finally) to Phil's BBQ for dinner. It was mighty tasty!

We made it to Old Town for some Mexican twice, and had to hit up Hash House one more time before they left for the cold tundra of Illinois.
It was like pulling teeth to convince Andy that frozen yogurt was yummy, but one taste and he was planning a return trip to Yogurtland!

The sun did make a big enough appearance for two trips to the pool/hot tub, so as not to waste the packing of the swim suits. (Nick and I have decided we are officially locals now because we were cold much of the time, and had to put on coats to go out to eat a few nights.)
All in all, we had a great time and were sad to see them go. It was a 10 day marathon of board games and card playing; we are so looking forward to playing again when we are home for Christmas.
