We went to the country on Saturday to Julian where apples are at their best and the pie is to die for! We really enjoyed the day but honestly felt the drive there was more enjoyable than the actual town. Don't get me wrong, the pie was just as good as they say but the knick-knack shops (and tourists) were just too plentiful for our tastes. It was a chilly 50 degrees there and the locals were bundled in their down coats and stocking caps, gloves, and scarves. 
Spent some time on Sunday getting a little sun poolside while it was in the mid seventies. We were laying there and I looked to Nick and just said "Can you believe it's the end of October and we are sitting by a pool in California!" It was truly a great weekend.
