Mother's Day!

Can I just say that it doesn't feel like mother's day if you aren't going to see your mother. We are missing out on the family dinners and stories being told around the kitchen table. Usually, my mom asks for a day planting flowers and shrubs with her kids for mother's day. It may be just a little on the cool side for that this year but if we could have been in town, we would have done it. Nick's mom will be enjoying dinner out with two of her son's this evening. If only her daughter-in-law hadn't had to work yesterday, maybe Nick and I could have made it down. It's almost worse living as close as we do than it would be if we lived hundreds of miles away. In Peoria, we live close enough we can go down for a weekend, but it's far enough away that a weekend there seems like a weekend spent in the car. We will be home for a long weekend over memorial day so we plan to celebrate our mothers then, when we can be home with them. Happy Mother's Day to you all!
