Sorry for the delayed posting!
Here goes...
Charlotte's eighth month was very busy. Unfortunately it was mostly due to illness. Nothing major but it seemed like we'd just get over one thing and then something else would hit.
We did spend one evening at the ER when she was throwing up too much and became dehydrated. She was a trooper through the whole experience. She got some X-rays and had to drink some nasty stuff and get a catheter and an IV. It was quite the ordeal that luckily turned out to be nothing. We got her rehydrated and took her home to rest the remainder of the weekend.
She got her second tooth this month! And her second ear infection.
She had a fever for about 24 hours this month but it was a low fever that Tylenol seemed to fix. I told you! We'd just get over one thing and then something else would hit! Nick seemed to stay clear of most of these germs but I was contracting at least a little bit of whatever Charlotte had each time.
A few comments about Charlotte when she is sick...
She only wants bottles. Not much food, if any at all.
She is really good at taking her medicine without too much fuss.
She sleeps A LOT. Like only awake for a total of 5 hours some days.
She can throw up while sleeping and not even wake up.
We probably went about two weeks with a slower, sadder, more tired version of our girl but I'm so glad to say that our happy girl returned in full force and is hopefully going to dodge those germs for the rest of the winter!
Charlotte did get to celebrate valentine's day with her class at day care. They even sent her home with valentines for us that she made! Well...they made them but she painted them! Well...they helped her put her foot prints on them with paint! Anyway, she is still the adorable little britches that makes us smile.
She is crawling so fast now and even pulls herself up to stand. Patty Cake always brings a smile to her face and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" can often be heard near her room at bed time. I don't know all the words but we've worked out a version that never ends so she can fall asleep to it.
